The Orchard Oriole!

They do not always live in orchards, altho’ we have plenty of orchards to choose from here in South Texas!

The Orchard Orioles can be seen in parks, backyards and especially where water is available. They do like roosting in shade trees and lightly wooded areas. Their food preferences, when they are down here, include various bugs and fruits. It can be easy to confuse them with other Orioles, but just look for the full covering of black over the adult male’s head and you will know for sure!

They are usually down here in the “winter” months, but this (yellow) immature male was seen this past July ~ Out of the ordinary and certainly a treat to see!

It's been suggested, and we love the idea, to incorporate and use all the colors represented in the pictures above into your creation... flowers, water, leaves!

So, here are a few Lamb's Loom shop yarn suggestions for your project! Come by and get yours, or give us a call and we will ship to you...and as always, feel free to dive into your own stash! ☺
