We are excited to begin another yarn-fun year of Make-Along creativity! This year’s theme is in honor of our dear friend Ann. She absolutely loved these little cuties! We saw one in The Lamb’s Loom garden just a few days ago.
These pretty, and fierce little jewels flit around your yard eating up all kinds of pests. Lending a hand to your gardening area by keeping the aphids and others at bay. Born on a mission, they have a huge impact on our world, just like Ann.
Welcome the Ladybugs!
Did you know that there are over 6000 species of Ladybugs worldwide? “Only” 500 or so in North America, and over 190 recorded in South Texas, so we have lots to choose from this year!
Ladybugs, as we call them, are also known as Ladybirds. They come in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes. So, let’s get started!

We will begin January with the Convergent Ladybug. They are the most common Ladybugs in Texas. They cannot fly in temperatures less than 55 degrees. That means they are cuddled up somewhere in your backyard wood pile waiting for warmer temps.
So, keep an eye out!!!
