Yarn Tasting found our Sit-n-Knit room full of friends and fiber, as we gathered to kick off our “yarn year”! 

Yarn Tasting Menus were handed out, full of tasty descriptions of all that was on display. New yarns and new notions were out for the scoping out. Then, the much-awaited announcement came to reveal the total number of items that had been given to our Donation Chest and distributed to over 20 different mission groups. Drum roll please…!

 

There were 5128 collected in 2025. That’s thousands of hats warming heads, hundreds of blankets and shawls wrapping hugs around souls and hundreds of Knitted Knockers given to clinics to support and encourage breast cancer survivors! All these items came together to bless others, all over the world! Check out a few of the pictures of recipients here on our website!

 

Then, our “winter” class signups were opened. Knitting, crocheting and learn-2 classes are available. You should come check them out. Of course, we do love door prizes and this year was no exception. Our grab box meant door prizes for all!

 

The next announcement came with the revealing of our Make-Along theme for 2026. In honor of our dear friend Ann, the theme for this year is Ladybugs! Ann absolutely loved them! Small, and born with a purpose, these little creatures have a huge impact on our world…and so does she.

We are looking forward to seeing all the creativity that comes in the door this year! We want to thank all the wonderful people who participated in Make-Along 2025. It was a hit! There were three people that received special prizes for participating every month!

 

Friday and Saturday were filled with fiber fun in our Sit-n-Knit areas and the Coffee Bar was enjoyed by all. Coffee and creamers, tea and cookies…What’s not to like?
